“I own and operate Heeren Content & Strategy, an inbound marketing agency serving small businesses, nonprofits, and authors. To scale the agency, I am partnering with local organizations to contract hire veteran and military spouse professionals in the field of marketing and public relations. This will provide remote work for military spouses and transitioning veterans. This funding will allow me to grow my business into the next scalable phase while keeping my commitment to operate without any debt.”
Erika Heeren, Heeren Content & Strategy
“After losing my husband, I decided to start an organic farm. During my time planning, I began to see how farming can be healing and decided to share that message with other veterans. My business is part for-profit farm and part veteran outreach through training programs for small scale farming. I had no idea outreach tools would be so expensive. This funding will help me increase marketing and expand my outreach.”
Sara Creech, Blue Yonder Organic Farm
“I have acquired a number of certifications and have been instrumental in starting support groups and a private practice in our last two duty stations. However, costs of running the business can be prohibitive. I will use this funding to secure the needed business licenses for our next location, liability insurance, as well as to maintain the costs of my website, phone line, billing, secure filing system, and to invest in other integral support equipment for my lactation consulting business.”
